Art for Progress, a New York-based non-profit arts organization, asked me to do a flyer and some ads for their first annual Summer Grooove Cruise, so, of course, I thought “why not stencil up a bouy?”
It was pretty fun throwing it off the beach in DUMBO for the back of the flyer, but I did manage to get soaked in East River juice in the process.
For the front of the flyer, I decided to draw up Lady Liberty as a DJ. Why not?
AFP also ran a few magazine ads.
The night ended up a great success. Lots of people showed, we had bands, djs, dancers, and great views of the waterfalls, The Statue of Liberty, and the skylines of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. At the end, the buoy was auctioned off for charity, and the henceforth, the bearer of the bouy gains free access to future Grooove Cruises.
